LeGrand Haslam 1916 - 1978
LeGrand Haslam, 62, died Oct. 4, 1978, in a Salt Lake hospital, following a heart attack. Born July 31, 1916, in Salt Lake City, to John Howarth and Mary Elizabeth Reed Haslam. Married Mary A. Berg, Sept. 16, 1937, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Graduate, University of Utah, as a civil engineer; received master's degree in civil engineering from University of Colorado. Owned Haslam Construction Company. He was a registered professional engineer in Utah and Colorado. Served in the Pacific arena in World War II as a First Lieutenant in the Army Corps of Engineers. Member LDS Church.
Survivors: wife, Mary B. Haslam; children, Dr. John L. Haslam, Lawrence, Kansas; Mrs. Gary (Rosemary) Morgan, Murray; and Reed Berg Haslam, Salt Lake City; seven grandchildren: Jeffery J. Haslam, Kirk S. Haslam, Brian W. Morgan, Suzanne Morgan, Deborah Morgan, Scott W. Morgan and Steven W. Morgan; sisters, Mrs. James (Evelyn) Day, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Preston (Gladys) Kimball, North Salt Lake.
